Lesson learned is to size up by one, especially with these Panasonics that are so quiet.The grill projects down too much (most grill are flush with the ceiling)and for this reason, Panasonic claims it will fit a 2x6. Had they housed everything in the box such that the grill would be flush with the ceiling, it would not fit in 2x6's. Anyone who says they installed one of these units in 2 hours has my total admiration, tempered with a large dose of suspicion. My only complaint of the unit itself is that the electrical juction box is too small on both units. And the two light plugs on the FV-05VFL2 are almost impossible to access with normal sized fingers.
